Business Manager Kailis Marine

Travis has over 20 years’ of experience in the marine industry. Over the years he has been responsible for the repair, refit and maintenance of over 100 vessels.

Travis first joined in the MG Kailis Group in 1994 as an apprentice refrigeration and electrical technician before progressing into supervisory roles. Keeping within the marine industry, Travis worked for Strategic Marine for over four years, building boats and servicing the Gorgon Oil and Gas Project, before progressing to the role of Operations Manager.

In 2016, Travis rejoined the MG Kailis Group overseeing vessel refits before assuming his current position as Business Unit Manager. Travis is a solution focused, forward thinking manager who is collaborative and approachable. He is responsible for the operations of the marine division including the management of all supervisors and engineers.   He oversees over 45 people in the Fremantle yard and remote WA sites, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Travis has extensive hands on experience nationally including over eight years project managing vessel refits and maintenance, demobilisation and cut down of barges and infrastructure on the Gorgon project, mobilisation of 4 x 100m barges, compiling hazardous materials removal on vessels and project managing a five year special survey for Select Hire of LC-20, 100t crane barge.

Travis’ qualifications include certifications in refrigeration & electrical, dogging, high risk sites, working at heights, and various general management and project management courses.
